change.

boy is that word getting old... for both parties.

"Obama is going to bring CHANGE to the white house!!!!"

"McCain is going to CHANGE Washington!!!"

Update: Thanks for reading my blog Barack: link.

On the GOP, "Drill, Baby, Drill" is one of the most audacious and annoying things I've heard in a long time. And why are people so head over heels about Sarah Palin, when all her speech last night was a bunch of kiddish pokes at Barack Obama. I personally saw it as garish, over the top, obnoxious and unprofessional.

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Really? Really? Really? Really? Oh wait, you are serious?

God's Will. I'm not a seasoned theologian of the deep biblical doctrine (yet..). But I can tell you one thing. It's not to build a $30 billion gas pipeline in Alaska. That's like asking God to have the Mariners win the World Series, or for God to give you that brand new car you've always wanted. I'm not arguing whether or not the pipeline is good or not.. but it's not "God's Will." I just don't understand this America is a God Blessed Nation message that so many people lay on us.

So God Bless America.... And we pray for $30 billion pipelines. Because its God's Will.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
"
- jesus christ.

Here is Barack Obama's response to Sarah Palin' speech.

On the community organizer criticism: "They [Republicans] haven't talked about the fact that I was a civil rights lawyer; they haven't talked about the fact that I taught constitutional law; they haven't talked about my work in the state legislature, in the United States Senate," he said. "They're talking about the three years of work that I did right out of college as if I'm making the leap from two or three years out of college into the presidency."

Obama added though that his work as a community organizer was relevant to who he is and the kind of people he's "fighting for."

"Why would that kind of work be ridiculous?" Obama said. "Who are they fighting for? What are they advocating for? They think that the lives of those folks who are struggling each and every day, that working with them to try to improve their lives is somehow not relevant to the presidency? I think maybe that's the problem -- that's part of why they're out of touch and they don't get it, because they haven't spent much time working on behalf of those folks."(video)
disclaimer: brian is not comparing obama to jesus.

"drill, baby, drill"
sick.

More nuclear power plants?!
She can't be serious.
Building, maintaining, and using natural energy sources...such as solar and wind power...would employ just as many Americans and NOT GIVE THEM CANCER in the meantime. Also the bit about "making sure we have America first and foremost in our minds" (or something.) Don't think we have a problem there. Kind of contradicts the "servant's heart," eh? Etc., etc.

Condescention and sarcastic personal (not political) criticism is not endearing to this voter.

Brian-

Maybe you should post an open question for people who read your blog to comment on, specifically those who are voting for Obama.

The topic that is on my mind is have we really understood what he is about and the policies he will be putting forward. Remember, the house and senate are both democrat with a likely reaction to be activist for the first 100 days as a way to say "f-you" to the old administration, so there is an extremely likely chance that most of his goals and campaign beliefs will become law. "Conservative" and "Liberal" pundits have both said repeatedly that Obama is the most activistic, socialist presidential candidate since FDR. Jesus commands us to innocent as doves and shrewd as serpents, and to understand the culture to engage it with the gospel. My fear is that people are making decisions based on ignorance.

I am registered independant and have not decided between the two candidates.

My fear is that many people (specifically young "evangelicals") are going with Obama because of the "change" mantra, yet have not really thought about how his policies will affect their lives and the lives of their families and loved ones.

Many people read your blog, so maybe it would be good to do. Just a thought

Blessings,
